The History of Us

I collaborated with @wearemomswhowrite to write a piece about someone I always mention in my book Dedications, but who I never get to see or touch or hold. My beautiful daughter. She would have been turning 3 this year. I have shared how I coped after we lost her in this anthology, how the power of a fictional woman, a fictional world taught me how to go on.

The History of Us

As the foreword to this book says: No matter how it happens, we are products of the world that made us. Biologically, emotionally, psychologically, morally, creatively, literally, and figuratively—we belong to those who came before us, and we take pieces of them with us wherever we go. By telling their stories, we are adding depth to our own.

All proceeds go towards the charity Women for Women International.
